Wishlist Wednesday

The arrival of September has come with cooler weather and gray skies.  It makes me want to snuggle under a cozy quilt.  This one from Virginia Johnson has a cheery pattern that just may help chase some of the fall blues away!

Check out some of other gorgeous patterns!

Wishlist Wednesday

Another stop at IKEA this week!  I'm sure you've seen this one everywhere - I certainly have, including lulu's new ivivva athletica store... but I still love it!  Here it is, the gorgeous PS MASKROS pendant.

I had my eye on it for our office/guest room, but it was a little too big for the space.  It looks just perfect in this dining room.  (I also love the feather-framed mirror!)

I think the most gorgeous room I've seen with the Maskros pendant is this one.  Stunning, isn't it?

Is the Maskros pendant on your wishlist?

Wishlist Wednesday

I must be in summer mode - I can't believe it's been three weeks since I've posted!  We were on vacation for a week, and I think the slower pace and warmer weather had distracted me entirely.

The 2011 IKEA catalogue came out this past week and it is, of course, full of gorgeous rooms.  I love white, but it was the black desk in this room that caught my eye.  In this cozy office nook, the Edland dressing table is used as a workspace, and it works beautifully.
(IKEA catalogue, page 36)
Choosing a leggier desk keeps the room feeling airy, and ensures that the dark piece of furniture does not overwhelm the lightness of the room.

The Edland Dressing Table is made of solid pine and is a bargain at C$249!

I would love to have this in a little "blogging corner" in my living room!

Wishlist Wednesday

A recent ad for a sale at Restoration Hardware had this gorgeous bathroom (I cannot find the picture without the ad).

The beautiful pendant light caught my eye.  It is the Victorian Hotel Pendant.

Here it is in a dramatic dressing room... wow!

I'd like to see it in a lighter, brighter beachy room - have you spotted this fixture used anywhere else?

Wishlist Wednesday

This week I came across Mod Green Pod, an eco-friendly textile and wallpaper company.  This pattern in particular caught my eye:

The Butterfly Jubilee fabric in licorice/earl grey is cheerful and chic.  Here it is in wallpaper form in the home of Nancy Mims, co-founder of Mod Green Pod.

You may recognize this pattern from Samantha Pynn's work.  This living room, which I love, featured the fabric on two gorgeous ottomans.

If you can't think of anything to recover or wallpaper in one of the beautiful patterns, check out the tote bags!  I think this one would make a perfect lunch bag.

Do you have a favourite pattern?

Wishlist Wednesday

It's gotten gorgeously warm here, so I've spent my last few lunch breaks walking around downtown.  I get a little further away from my regular route and have been checking out some home decor stores.  Today I wandered through Nood (new objects of desire).  This gray "ring cut" pillow caught my eye.

I think it would add the perfect bit of texture to my living room.

How are you spending your summer lunch breaks?

Wishlist Wednesday

Given my love of things white and beachy, it is not a surprise that I am hooked on the Atrium Dining Set from Crate and Barrel.  It just screams summer and makes me think of outdoor meals and warm nights!

I love the color of the pillow fabric and the shape of the chairs.

Even the little bench is perfect!

Oh, how I am wishing that we had room for this set (and that pool) in our backyard!

Wishlist Wednesday

It was a busy weekend for us as we finally tackled the installation of crown molding in our kitchen.  It's up, but still needs some hole-filling and touch-up painting to really look good.  As always, the work took twice as long as we thought it would - that seems to be a rule for us.  If we think something (ex. one coat of paint) will take half an hour, it'll usually end up taking an hour.  If we think it's a 3 hour job, it usually ends up being a 6 hour job...  We're learning!

The sunny weather and longer days really make me want to brighten up the bedding in our room from the cream-coloured duvet cover we use now.
I love branches and trees in pattern and design, and this springy duvet cover from the aptly-named Branch caught my eye.

I love this pattern so much that when fall comes around, I'd consider switching out to this one...

They say variety is the spice of life, right?

We have finally had a few sunny days this week and it makes me long for lazy days on a patio or closed-in porch.  West Elm has a few daybeds that would fit one of those spaces perfectly.

The Window Daybed...

The Overlapping Squares daybed is also very chic...

I love it in white in this breezy beachy room...

Wishlist Wednesday

On the list this week is the classy Chloe Sofa from Macy's.  Oh, how I wish they delivered to Canada!  The colour, tufting and arms are all perfect!

Although it's not quite as timeless-looking, I also love the Seafoam version.

I think this would be perfect in a glamorous bedroom!

Wishlist Wednesday

This week, I've got something totally indulgent on my list.  Delphine has gorgeous, customizable stationary.  I am torn between the Chrysanthemum personal note card...

...and the slightly more businesslike Kent personal note card.

There are tons of designs and color combination, and even matching envelopes!  Beautiful!  What's your favourite?

I am a big fan of the versatile ottoman, especially in a living room.  This one from Nate Berkus (via HSN) is simple and classy.  The hexagonal shape adds interest to an otherwise straight-forward piece.

I think a pair would be perfect in a living room.  Tomorrow I'll share a mock-up of a gray living room that incorporates these ottomans.

Wishlist Wednesday

I am getting more and more hooked on "dressy" aprons, or hostess aprons - the ones that don't make you look like you're wearing a bad pair of overalls, and do make you look more like a domestic goddess!

The first dressy apron I purchased was from City Girl Aprons, via Etsy.  I chose the adorable Damask Apron, which is usually in stock.

This one from Boojiboo via Etsy...

...and this one from Anthropologie are both on my wishlist.

What do you think?  Do any of these catch your eye or do you have another favourite from somewhere else?

This weekend I will share one of my favourite recipes to go with the apron!

Wishlist Wednesday

I would love to upgrade my current "coffee table" - actually a brown ottoman from Wal-Mart - to something much more glamorous.  I think this gorgeous mirrored coffee table from The Cross would be perfect.

It is featured in my most favourite living room, looking very icy and cool.

A similar one also makes an appearance on the cover of the current issue of House Beautiful.  This room makes the table look much warmer to me, maybe because it's sort of snuggled up with the ottoman.

...just as beautiful up close!

Would this table (or something else from these rooms) be on your wishlist?

Wishlist Wednesday

Continuing in the outdoors vein, this week my wishlist item is not one, but two of these gorgeous planters.

I'd like to see one on each side of my grand entryway door... which I don't have, but maybe one day.  This beautiful beast is from Nidderdale Lead in the UK.

Wishlist Wednesday

There are still quite a few things that I'm looking for to complete our kitchen/eating area reno.  One of them is a new dining table and chairs.
The chic Flower Dining Chair from Urban Barn is on my shortlist.

The shape is so classy, and I really like the curve of the back legs.  The fabric is just the lovely neutral color that I'm looking for.
Would you like to take a seat?  :)

Wishlist Wednesday

I thought I'd try to make up for my disdain of the Restoration Hardware's factory cart table in one of last week's posts by sharing this wishlist item.  This lovely x-leg bench caught my eye as I was browsing the site.

The Toscane Linen Nailhead Bench has so many fantastic elements - linen, nailhead trim, x-legs... wow!  I would like one or two for at the end of a bed, under a console table or leggy side table, or just in the living room for a foot stool or extra seating.

Would you make room in your home for this beauty?

Wishlist Wednesday

This week I'm loving these springy pillow covers from West Elm.
I know I need the pigeon one... and probably the thistle... and the rose is beautiful... and, oh well, might as well take the butterfly while I'm at it!
Do you have a favourite?

Wishlist Wednesday

Wishlist Wednesday - those caught-my-eye can't-get-it-out-of-my-head items.

I'm kicking things off with this gorgeous Sausalito pendant from Troy Lighting.

I would love to have it in my kitchen, but my own space is just so ordinary (it doesn't even have granite!) that I'm not sure it would go... (I'll show you that space one day, I promise.)

Look how beautiful it is in this show home.

Sarah Richardson used it in this space without the shade and I love that look too!

The matching fixtures are just as beautiful.  Would any of them be on your wishlist?
